He is also a Fellow in the Iowa Academy of Trial Lawyers and has been for over 25 years. Fellowship in this organization is limited to 225 Lawyers within the state who have demonstrated superior trial skills in representing their Clients.

Before beginning his Practice in 1975, he had the privilege of serving as a Law Clerk to the Iowa Supreme Court.
